Duration: 16.5 hours
Wake up bright and early to take advantage of this unique experience. Visit all the most beautiful spots in Nicaragua, including two volcanoes, the lake, and the city of Granada.
A great breakfast is served on the way to Nicaragua. The first stop is a visit to the crater of the active Masaya Volcano. Around noon, enjoy a delicious lunch and visit Masaya Market to shop for local items and souvenirs.
Later in the day, there is a 45-minute boat ride on the Lake of Nicaragua. Right after, be prepared to be amazed by your visit to the beautiful Granada. The city of Granada was founded in 1524 and is one of the oldest cities in Central America. Spend about an hour getting to know the marvelous city.
After we leave Granada, we head to the lookout at the dormant volcano of Catarina. This is a great stop for shopping and using a clean restroom just before we start our trip back to Costa Rica.
At the border, you need your actual passport, so don’t forget it. The passport needs to be valid for the next six months. You also need to have a copy of your flight itinerary, detailing your return flight, for customs at the border.
